During the year long Porthmeor Programme in St Ives, it was perhaps inevitable I would revisit memories of childhood summers long ago. I was also fortunate to have a tutor whose approach to oil painting both enthralled and excited me. I resolved to commit to a medium which was new to me. I am still on this journey of experimentation and discovery. Back in the Derbyshire Peak District, I have a wealth of inspiration on my doorstep. I am continually gathering swift images and impressions which inform my latest paintings.
